Green Line

The Green Line light rail between Minneapolis & St. Paul opened today. Blustery day, and I heard we may have severe weather coming in later this afternoon.

I went to the West Bank celebration. Some local special interest groups had booths, and there was a mini-food fest of local restaurants (with very reasonable prices by street fair standards!)

The weather being miserable, I sat in the music tent and listened to the Sunshine & Rainbows Family Band (folk-style).

I had taken the Green Line bus to get to the West Bank, but hopped the train back downtown. Very crowded, but not the sardine-packed ride there was back when the Blue Line opened. I plan to take the whole route later this week when I can get a good seat.

Almost done with class!

First, I finished the last of my homework, now it's just waiting to hear back if I did well enough to earn my Associates' degree. If so, it's time off from college and hopefully a new job somewhere!

And now, let's take a look at what Goodreads recommends based on my romance shelf. Here I put not only category romances, but non-fiction books about love and relationships, and fiction books where the romantic relationship is a major theme. (As opposed to, "oh, and the hero got the girl too."

You're going to see a lot of shoujo manga on this list.

Have now started online classes at Rasmussen. It's been pretty exhausting, but I've done my homework and reading for the week.

Had an interview with Pro Staff. I think it went well, but it's hard to actually fail a temp interview if you are at all competent. The real trick is being chosen for good assignments.

Budget very tight.

Two people I know died this past week.

Alice Lundgren Erickson, a classmate of mine in elementary and high school, suddenly. She'd worked in my hometown's main grocery store for many years, so was one of the few ex-classmates I saw every so often.

And Lois Nordin, who was my music teacher and choir director in elementary and high school, as well as being a pianist for my church until her arthritis got too bad. She was looking very frail the last time I saw her, and apparently shattered her shoulder in a fall recently I'm just glad I was able to thank her for teaching me that last time.

Rest in peace.
