So--for the past few months I've been attending meetings of a blogger subgroup of LinkedIn ( www.linkedin.com) the first Tuesday of each month at the Joule (http://joulemn.com/ )meeting space at 1200 Washington Ave in Minneapolis (close to Big Brain Comics.)

It's primarily meant for small business bloggers, but welcomes all bloggers and potential bloggers of any experience level. I am thinking of starting a pop culture review blog, myself.

This month we talked about SEO, Search Engine Optimization. Essentially, finding ways to get your blog to come higher in search engine results so that people randomly find it and then theoretically stay a bit and perhaps become regulars.

Various options were mentioned (having good videos related to your topic apparently works really well) but the main thing we discussed was the use of keywords. In your post title, in the first paragraph, in the meta description and in tags.

To give you some idea of what sort of bloggers we had, and to drive some traffic to their blogs, let's have a link list!

http://must-press-on.com Must-Press-ON is a fitness and health blog specializing in information about triathlon related subjects.

http://chrispalbicki.com/blog/ Blank Canvas is a blog promoting the art and writing of Christopher Palbicki.

https://pinterest.com/thegiftsofjoy/ The Gifts of Joy is not a full-fledged blog yet, but showcases the work of Joy Danielson, a "personal holiday planner".

http://weightlesschronicles.com/ W8lesschronicles is another health and fitness blog, concentrating on getting people to their preferred weight.

http://bvocal.net/category/blog BVocal is a small business that teaches effective voice projection and speaking techniques to businessfolk. I've had one of the introductory seminars, and it was pretty good.

http://girpromotions.com/category/marketing-ideas/ Graphics and Innovative Resources is a company that does marketing consulting and social media management for other companies.

http://skellegense.blogspot.com/ Skellegense is a yoga and meditation blog, mostly about the titular discipline.

http://www.technickconsulting.com/technicktips/ Another company that helps businesses improve their social media profile. Nick is also the manager of the Bloggers subgroup and organizes the live meetings.

If you like any of these, please pass them along, and tell the bloggers that SKJAM! sent you.
